The touch of Aural Sculptures
The draft for an Aural Sculpture is not yet definite by the engineering of the inner volume dimensions and the shaping of its outer visual silhouette. A special feature is the independent design of the topography of the visible enclosure surface. Applications range from planar patterns over distinct stamping elements to figural incorporations.
Auch diese Applikationen werden integraler Bestandteile des virtuellen Modells für die Aural Sculpture zur Herstellung in einem Zug und sind damit prädestiniert, das jeweilige Stück absolut einmalig zu machen.
Die klassische Oberfläche einer Aural Sculpture ist bereits ohne besondere Gestaltungselemnte ein taktiles Kunstwerk. Durch das feinkörnige Ausgangsmaterial und den langsamen schichtweisen Entstehungsprozess ergibt sich eine faszinierende Mikrotextur mit einer natürlich anmutenden Topographie wie sie in keinem anderen technischen Verfahren zu erzeugen ist.
Wir bei 3BE lieben diese Eigenheiten und steuern Modellierung und Produktionsprozess entsprechend. However, smoothening of the original tactility is sometimes mandatory to maintain integrity of the subordinate aspect.
The attachment of a holohedral „micro-3D“ pattern to the surface of an Aural Sculpture is the most sophisticated tactile application to an Aural Sculpture. It is a way to accent the expression of the macroscopic silhouette in a distinct way and to make a connection to the environment.
Creating Aural Sculptures with tactile areas is a challenge for any 3D artist, i.e., to match the tactile artwork and the macroscopic shape during modelling in terms of dimensions, directions and distribution. Die fertige Modelldatei kann wegen der für die Darstellung aller topographischen Details erforderlichen hohen Anzahl an finiten Elementen außerordentlich groß werden.

In 3D artistry, the limits of illustrated imagination are extended to infinity. With additive manufacturing, it is possible to materialize more of it than by any other manufacturing process. It allows us, for example, to fuse separate figural elements with the a basic Aural Sculpture. This means that we merge the original enclosure model with other 3D models, retaining all relevant enclosure dimensions with regard to playback quality.
Die Auswahl an verfügbaren Objekten ist praktisch unbegrenzt – von abstrakten Kunstelementen über Fantasiefiguren bis zu lebensechten Nachbildungen. Für einen tieferen Einblick in die Welt der 3D-Künste empfiehlt es sich, einmal auf einer der kommerziellen Plattformen für dergleichen zu stöbern,, z. B.cgtrader. Schließlich verbleibt auch noch jeweils der Parameter der Darstellungsintensität – von der dezenten Ergänzung bis hin zur praktisch vollständigen Umgestaltung der ursprünglichen Gehäusesilhouette. A mind-blowing playground.
Die Prägung mit persönlichen Botschaften oder Zeichen ist sicher der offensichtlichste Weg der Individualisierung. A personal writing, a signature or a 3D-photograph can be turned into an inimitable 3D-application to the enclosure as well.
