Aural Sculptures are hi-fi loudspeakers for the usual connection to any sound playback system.

The driver enclosure of an Aural Sculpture is produced by additive manufacturing methods. The design of the outer shape can morph almost independently from the related acoustic engineering that is negotiating the constraints of “classical” speaker box design. The seamless driver enclosure with irregular inner volume dimensions is unique and provides fundamental benefits to the driver performance, for the most authentic staging of music.

Aural Sculptures allow for an almost infinite range of visual appearances. The shape of an Aural Sculpture is defined by her macroscopic silhouette and the details of her surface, i.e., tactile patterns and/ or figural applications. Shaping an Aural Sculpture is then an act of motivation rather than an act of construction.

To be convenient, Aural Sculptures can be designed to meet individual interior requirements, e.g., serving as exposed freestanding sculptures or adapted to walls, corners or room niches, self-supporting or wall-mounted.

The speaker cabinets of Aural Sculptures are made of pourable materials such as polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), polyamide 12 (PA12) or sand. These materials are polymerized, melted or cemented in specific processes known by the terms “Additive Manufacturing” or “3D Printing”. Parts and products made this way are already established in branches like aeronautics, automotive, medical engineering, robotics, apparel and, of course, in sculpting.

Objective acoustic parameters of the processed materials in Aural Sculptures demonstrate better qualification for building speaker cabinets than most of the established materials in the market. E.g., the loss factor exceeds even the one of MDF.

With the integral acoustic design in one piece it is possible to reduce the particular bulk of material while achieving better acoustic performance, compared to the manufacturing of conventional high-end speaker enclosures.

Aural Sculptures have not been tested for outdoor durability. Anyway, the high-end drivers used by 3be audio are for indoor home use only.
